This is actually a joke, and I feel like this government do
not consider younger generations. I don’t understand this at all, makes no
sense to me.
Up to March 31 this year, no stamp duty on second homes and
buy-to-lets is charged on the first £125,000. It is charged at 2 per cent
between £125,000 and £250,000, 5 per cent between £250,000 and £925,000, 10 per
cent between £925,00 and £1.5million and 12 per cent above that.
But from 1 April, each stamp duty band will rise by 3 per
cent, adding thousands of pound to the bill for landlords and second-home
buyers.
